The opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Director, Employee Benefits & Well-being, the Benefits Consultant will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of health & welfare plans. This role requires ongoing interaction with our benefits outsourcing vendor to ensure effective administration of eligibility, payroll deduction files, and maintaining our employee benefits website and enrollment system. The scope of accountability includes: medical, dental, vision, life, paid family and medical leave, voluntary benefits, FSA, HSA, EAP plans and wellness programs.

How you will contribute:

  • Work with carriers, support health & welfare operations, enhance the employee experience, and help lead the employee annual enrollment process, including handling plan documents and testing of enrollment website
  • Complete government forms and filings (e.g., Form 5500, ACA, PCORI, etc.) and assist with other compliance-related activity such as Medicare, HSA, COBRA and ACA requirements
  • Review and support employee benefits and wellness communications materials including maintaining and updating internal websites
  • Primary point of contact with colleagues in Human Resources for ad hoc requests
  • Prepare census and benefit reports for internal and external partners
  • Update reporting with metrics to meet KPI and OKR targets
  • Possess a passion for process documentation and identifying opportunities for process improvement
  • Resolve employee and retiree escalations
  • Collaborate with employee resource groups to support wellness, DE&I, and sustainability initiatives
  • Assist with wellness champion group plans and monthly meetings to promote wellness throughout a hybrid organization
  • Help design webinars and communication strategies for employee awareness, education, and engagement in benefits and wellness resources

What you will bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working with health & welfare plans for a mid-size to large organization
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions
  • Expert knowledge of health & welfare plans
  • Excellent Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and communication skills
  • Understanding of plan compliance, ERISA and other relevant benefits legislation, and privacy and security matters
  • Strong problem-solving skills to quickly tackle ambiguous situations with an analytical mindset
  • Resilience to adapt to changing priorities and organizational structure
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization to collaborate with cross functional and virtual teams

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is:

  • Southern region: $66,200 - $99,300 annually

  • Central region: $69,800 - $104,700 annually

  • Northern region: $74,700 - $112,100 annually

If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $63,300 - $95,000 annually

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $74,700 - $112,100 annually.

If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $69,800 - $104,700 annually.
