Position Summary
- A Benefit Assistant works in conjunction with the Benefit Consultants to manage eligibility and deliver proactive service to the entire book of business. The Benefit Assistant interacts with insurance carriers and develops communication pieces, processes client eligibility changes and works through billing issues. This position also is responsible for the process of inputting information and changes to the company database throughout the year. Customer Service, scheduling and resolving day to day benefit issues is also a daily function of the role.
Essential Function
- Coordinates and supports the group clients in conjunction with the Consultants Scheduling, researching and communication to current clients
- Utilizes systematic, reproducible processes such as checklists, branded template documents to advance and support our service model
- Communicates thoroughly and clearly with all team members concerning client eligibility.
- Utilizes and maintains internal database to thoroughly record and document client information.
- Data input and report production through internal client management system
- Actively participates in internal meetings, contributing appropriately in a collaborative manner.
- Exhibits behavior with internal team, external vendor partners and clients that intentionally advances our culture.

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1 year experience in an office setting
- Minnesota Life and Health license, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Able to connect with clients
- A natural inclination to reach out, build relationships with clients
- Excellent problem-solving skills with persistence to achieve desired result
- Good communication skills, especially verbally. Clarity and accuracy are key.
- Strong organizational skills, including daily prioritization and logical thinking
- Strong working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint, online platforms, and database management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
