Job Description
The Behavior Technician supports the operational and educational environment of the Early Learning Center by assisting in
the implementation of the educational program. The program serves children of varying abilities, including children
whom may have developmental delays, challenging behaviors, as well as typically developing children through sound
learning opportunities. The technician will be ensure compliance with Missouri Child Care Licensing requirements and
the registered behavior technician certification.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Build positive trusting relationships with children, families, colleagues, and community representatives to support the
child and family.
2. Consistently implement treatment plans with fidelity (under BCBA direction) and prepare program materials;
treatment protocols that include a wide variety of domains such as toilet learning, communication, social, and
adaptive living skills to support the child that fosters independence.
3. Guide or redirects behavior in positive and productive ways.
4. Promote individualized child’s needs by assisting in assessment and training procedures.
5. Observe and document the children regularly and individualize the program based on these observations in
consultation with the classroom staff and BCBA.
6. Continue to learn about children, families, and the field including participating in training, expanding skills and
knowledge, learning new techniques and approaches
7. Maintaining professional standards and being ethical, for examples, including maintaining confidentiality of children
and families, follow operational policies and procedures, and supporting a positive team interaction with all.
8. Submit all required documentation by deadlines
9. Assist in classroom in the absent of the teacher or teacher assistant as needed to meet program needs.
10. Other duties as assigned to accomplish Agency goals. This could be unusual or emergency circumstances.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree, High School Diploma or GED Equivalency. Maintain CPR/First Aid certification Meet driver-approved
standards as described in the Vehicle Usage Policy. . A valid driver’s license and good driving record, as well as proof of
current auto insurance is required. One (1) year experience working with individuals with disabilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Heavy lifting (over 50 lbs.) required for care of individuals for performing job functions such as transferring frequently.
2. The ability to bend, twist, stoop and kneel to perform the essential functions of the ELC Behavior Technician frequently.
OTHER INFORMATION:
As a routine part of this position, working hours may vary to meet program or individualized participant needs. This could
include adjusting schedules, changing shifts, or additional hours to meet the needs. It may be necessary to work in other
facilities, or work additional hours or adjust schedules to meet the needs. This position requires driving for business.
Requires current Registered Behavior Technician Certification, and RBT work is supervised by BCBA.
