The ideal candidate will have experience providing support through Kentucky's Waiver programs, i.e. Michelle P Waiver (MPW) and/or Supports through Community Living (SCL). Recent and caseload experience is preferred.
Essential Job Functions:
- Evaluate clients' behavioral and emotional health and makes recommendations regarding their treatment.
- Uses validated screening tools for assessment and symptom monitoring.
- Creates behavioral and/or treatment plans that reflect clients' values, goals, and health. Incorporates feedback from clients' treatment team and support system in the treatment plan.
- Provides therapy to clients and families, using evidence-based approaches.
- Conducts therapy in a traditional office setting, or in the community based location.
- Completes client-related documentation and communicates relevant clinical information to both the client and treatment team in accordance with agency policy in a timely fashion, and with content that is focused on relevant issues.
- Maintains a productivity rate in accordance with agency policy.
- Protects the confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA.
- Participates in program evaluation and quality initiatives.
- Contributes to and joins in agency and community education activities addressing prevention and treatment of mental health conditions
- Assumes additional responsibilities as requested
Qualifications:
Education: Master of Special Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
Minimum Experience: At least one year of behavioral specialist experience or related experiences within the IDD community (teaching, hospital setting, etc...) or provide documentation of completed coursework regarding learning and behavioral principles and techniques.

1. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in providing individual therapy.
2. Knowledge of behavioral health procedures and policies related to position responsibilities.
3. Knowledge of mental health conditions and evidence-based treatment. Ability to implement evidence-based interventions and protocols for behavioral health conditions.
4. General understanding of and ability to utilize community resources.
5. Fluent in conflict resolution that demonstrates respect, limits, and flexibility.
6. Ability to exercise sound judgement and exceptional problem-solving skills.
7. Autonomous work ethic. Functions with minimal direct supervision.
8. Seeks out and accepts supervision, continuing professional development and continual improvement of own and agency’s practices and operations.
9. Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms, including proper phone etiquette, necessary to allow for comprehensive clinical documentation and effective communication with others.
10. Proficient in operating a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system, including but not limited to, electronic medical records, email, Microsoft Word and Excel, and computer navigation. Ability to use other software as required while performing the essential functions of the job.
11. Outstanding organizational and time management skills to effectively juggle multiple priorities and time constraints.
12. Knowledge of the compliance aspects of clinical care and client privacy and best practices in medical office operations.
13. Is open to expanding client hours when needed to effectively service client needs.
