Job Summary:
Overall, the role of a Behavioral Health Unit Assistant/CNA is to provide compassionate care, support, and supervision to individuals with mental health challenges, helping them to achieve stability, cope with their conditions, and improve their quality of life.

The Role: Behavioral Health Unit Assistant/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Provides patient care under the supervision of an RN following applicable scope and standards of practice, and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

The Opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic CNA to join our team of highly skilled professionals at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.
What You'll Do:
  • Assists with ensuring the safety of the patients, while helping to meet their emotional, physical, recreational, and mental health needs.
  • Assists with keeping the therapeutic environment safe, clean, orderly, and appropriately stocked.
  • Communicates in a therapeutic manner, uses de-escalation techniques, and reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Your Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Enrolled in a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course within one year of hire required. Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required within 18 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS); and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) is required within 6 months of hire.
  • A minimum of one year of directly related work experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications is desired.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
