Job Description
We are a seeking hard-working candidates to join our team as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) The BHT is an integral part of team who assists in coordinating the day to day needs of the facility and clients by monitoring and maintaining head counts, 1:1s, client schedules and activities, and clients whereabouts and behaviors.
The ideal BHT candidate is hard-working, demonstrates ability to function as a team player, flexible with schedule availability and ability to work over-time and is reliable, dedicated to providing exceptional quality care to our clients, empathetic to the trials, tribulations, and victories of our clients recovery journey, detailed orientated especially in monitoring and documenting client behaviors in support of patient safety and has the ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification.
Job Duties:
- Supervise patients and patient living areas conscientiously with emphasis on patient safety and well-being.
- Assists in assuring daily program activities: transports patients, coordinates group activities, admissions and discharges, and supervises all recreational activities.
- Record patient behavior, problems, and issues in communication log in a timely, legible, and helpful manner.
- Interact appropriately with patients, showing them respect while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Communicates effectively with other staff members, demonstrating the ability to work as a team member and contribute positively to the morale of staff and to promote quality patient care.
- Safely transports clients in company vehicles and reports all motor vehicle incidents to supervisor no matter how slight.
- Help with coverage of vacations, sick time, etc.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associates Degree, College Credit Certificate in Addictions Studies, BHT Certification, C.N.A License and/or meets experience requirements.
- Prefers at least 6 months of experience in the field of chemical dependency/substance abuse and/or psychiatric setting and has demonstrated ability to work with patients in a residential environment preferred.
- Valid Driver License and ability to be added to Company Vehicle Insurance Policy, required.
- CBHT, preferred
- KIPU EMR experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
