Behavioral Health Clinician
School Based Health Centers (Kent, Queen Annes, and Caroline Counties)
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health and the Director of Community Based Programs, and as a part of a multidisciplinary team, the Behavioral Health Clinician will provide direct services including individual (children and adults), family and group therapeutic services to Wellness Center patients, their parents, and school staff as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to make routine decisions and determine proper action based on experience within the limits of policy and procedures.
- Demonstrated oral/written skills in English; ability to speak Spanish and/or Creole a plus.
- Experience documenting in an electronic medical record.
- Ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultures, ages, and economic backgrounds in a culturally competent and sensitive manner.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and problem solve independently.
- Excellent organizational, communication, written and customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of MD Mental Health policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and experience with evidence-based practices, including trauma informed care framework.
- Strong clerical/administrative skills including personal computer skills (Microsoft Office software).
- CPR Certification
- Valid MD driver’s license
- Required to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
Education and Experience:
- MD Licensed Clinician (LCSW-C, LCPC, LMCT, LCADC, LMSW, LGPS, LGMFT, LGADC)
- Master's degree from an accredited University
- Must be able to meet and maintain the CCHS credentialing requirements
- Must submit to TCPS/CCPS background check and fingerprinting processes
- Minimum of 2 years' experience providing therapy to children and families.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Addresses referrals from CCHS School Based Health Center Medical and Dental providers, including referrals via warm hand-offs.
- Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to assess needs and coordinate services
- Maintains weekly scheduled appointments in our electronic records system
- Provide therapeutic services to patients and their families in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members including external partners
- Completes required documentation and implementation in a timely manner. Documentation includes intake paperwork, biopsychosocial assessment, diagnostic screens, and assessments as necessary, treatment planning, discharge planning, satisfaction survey, and community referrals when needed.

- Maintain an active client caseload, based on needs of program and in accordance with COMAR regulations
- Participate in on-call activities for the Behavioral Health program as needed
- Works with TCPS and CCPS and other community partners to improve school climate and provide support for staff, students, and families
- Participates in school meetings relevant to their patients.
- Provides Behavioral Health trainings when needed.
- Other duties as assigned
- Regular, reliable attendance is a requirement of this job.
