Large managed care company looking to fill a contract remote Behavioral Health Care Advocate role.
***Direct practice experience in the Maryland Public Behavioral Health System***
***Knowledge of public resources throughout Maryland***
Primary Responsibilities:
-Guide telephonic reviews, obtain relevant clinical information from Behavioral Health providers, review treatment plans, determine appropriate levels of care, and administer public Behavioral Health benefits
-Review written requests for authorizations submitted through a provider portal
-Oversee initial and continued stay requests for authorization to inpatient and outpatient psychiatric, chemical dependency, and dual diagnosis treatment services
-Coordinate transitions between various levels of care
-Telephonic assessment and triage of participants in Behavioral Health crisis
Required Qualifications
-Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Counseling; or Licensed Ph.D.; or Registered Nurse with Behavioral Health experience
-Current, unrestricted license to practice Behavioral Health treatment in the state of Maryland
-2+ years of experience in Behavioral Health
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
-Direct practice experience in the Maryland Public Behavioral Health System
-Knowledge of public resources throughout Maryland
-Experience with Medicaid populations
-Experience in treating people with Substance Use Disorders and/or those who are dually diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders
-Managed Care experience and/or experience working in an environment that required coordinating benefits and utilizing multiple groups and resources for patients
-Ability to think and act quickly in fast-paced settings
-Ability to monitor and achieve measurable results for a diverse participant population
-Bilingual Spanish
