Behavior Technician (ABA)
The Center for Behavior Analysis and Language Development (CBALD) is a Division of the Shabani Institute (SI). CBALD & SI are dedicated to providing effective, empirically-validated educational and behavioral services to individuals and their families. Through the use of scientifically supported, behavior analytic assessment and intervention strategies, we promote an improved quality of life for all of our clients.
We are seeking bright, enthusiastic, and eager to learn applicants interested in a Full-Time position where they’ll be expanding their careers in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and becoming part of our team in the South Bay and Los Angeles area.
Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Implements Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) intervention,
- Collect & input data,
- Demonstrate intervention skills,
- Assist with the implementation of treatment in accordance with a specific client's goals,
- Maintain positive communication and a professional demeanor with colleagues & parents,
- Utilize instructional and non-instructional times in a professional manner,
- Successfully complete training and/or college coursework as required by administration,
- Participate in and contribute to in-service training,
- Maintain confidentiality of clients (HIPAA Compliant),
- Receive training in severe behavior assessment & treatment,
- Work in school settings (1:1 school aide)
Requirements:
- Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, turning, twisting, standing for extended periods, reaching, running for extended period of time and sprinting for short bursts, and ability to visually and auditorily monitor clients(s) to ensure their safety, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and the ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Effective communication skills
- Must have an Bachelor's degree in Psychology/related field or higher
- Reliable transportation
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Proof of auto insurance
- Must pass criminal background/fingerprints check (DOJ & FBI)
- Must pass TB test clearance
- Bilingual a plus but not required
Compensation:
- Paid drive time and mileage
- Opportunities for BCBA or BCaBA mentorship and supervision
- Initial and ongoing paid training
- Hourly rate depending on Experience and Qualifications
- Performance-based bonuses available after 90-day training period
