About the Team/Role
The BC Coordinator (Benefit Continuation) is a client facing resource to plan sponsors and health advisors for matters related to COBRA compliance, plan design and governmental reporting. This role is responsible for an assigned caseload servicing our small employers, health broker or advisor and plan sponsor for all matters related to their health plan.
How you'll make an impact
- Provide timely, superior customer service, including problem solving and issue resolution for matters related to COBRA election forms and eligibility
- Responsible for overall satisfaction and retention of assigned clients. Provide effective verbal and written communications in a clear, concise, and informative manner. Communicate complex regulatory and plan requirements in easy to understand language.
- Partner with functionalized operational teams to resolve client questions and requests. Sets appropriate turnaround expectations and works internally and externally to meet established deadlines.
- Assist clients with administration support, including understanding their responsibilities with IRS and Department of Labor regulations
- Maintain up-to date knowledge of present legislation and proposed legislative changes regarding COBRA law through self-study and company-sponsored training sessions
- Run and provide compliant and accurate reimbursement reports, participant statements, enrollment reports, COBRA election and notification process as applicable. Assist client with leveraging tools to allow them to be efficient including utilizing the employer portal for plan activities.
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Experience you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant work experience
- Customer service experience preferred
- Prior experience in the health and benefit industry, specifically COBRA, preferred
- Experience in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, manage tasks and meet in connection with business operations, including related Health compliance matters
- Preferably located near our Mason, OH office for in-office work 1x a week
