The Baseline Engineer will work with program leadership and the technical team to ensure compliance with all configuration and data management requirements of development projects. Responsibilities include regular interactions with stakeholders across the program and enterprise focused activities. This position is ONSITE in Albany, NY.
Responsibilities- Establish and control functional, allocated, and product baselines for Windows 10 desktop and laptop operating systems
- Analyze proposed engineering changes of functional, allocated, and product baselines to determine potential impacts and effects on product and system
- Coordinate modification records for management control
- Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, and support activities.
- Ensure that customer requirements are implemented and review change accounting activity to ensure compliance with policies
- Ensure configuration and revision control integrity of all technical baselines
- Participate in proposal process; interpret statement of work and proposal documents to identify CM requirements
- Create test artifacts to include within Test Plans
- Responsible for daily status reporting at project level
- Trace test cases and results back to specific user stories/requirements/quality risks
- Provide accurate and precise estimates for assigned task duration and work effort, along with confidence
- Demonstrated ability in configuration management focused on the following:
- Knowledge of Government standards for data security such as markings, handling of classified and unclassified information, and how to handle the distribution of this information
- Strong computer skills specifically in MS Office products
- Experience working with United States Government (USG) customers
- Interprets engineering changes
- Solid knowledge of SCCM processes
- Ability to work with cross functional teams
- Understanding/knowledge of related disciplines, particularly familiarization with Engineering methods and processes.
- Strong ability to multi-task with demonstrated strong verbal and written communication, coordination, and planning skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
- Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement
- Four (4) year college degree or equivalent experience
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to understand and solve complex problems.
- Ability to organize/manage multiple priorities and projects coupled with the flexibility to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills relative to testing and technical issues.
- Team player and the capacity to work with multiple project members.
