Legend Biotech is seeking Viral Vector Process Development (Multiple Levels) as part of the R&D team Based inNanjing, China.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a discovery research team developing innovative processes to manufacture Viral Vectors for in vivo cell therapies.
- Subject matter expert in biology of lentivirus and retrovirus, and viral manufacturing.
- Execute research timelines to meet program and corporate objectives.
- Design, execute, and interpret Process Development study data to understand the mechanism-of-action and play an active role in subsequent scientific discussions to drive decisions.
- Write and review protocols, SOPs, technical reports, regulatory documents, and memos to summarize experiments and investigations.
- Partner with internal cross-functional team members to facilitate technical assessment, technical transfer, and IND filing.
- Closely mentor scientists to further develop talent within the group.
- Other duties will be assigned, as necessary.
- Ph.D. in Virology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Genetic Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 6+ years relevant pharmaceutical industry/academic experience post-graduation.
- Deep biological expertise in one or more eukaryotic Viral Vectors, including lentivirus, retrovirus, adenovirus virus, and adeno-associated virus (AAV), is required.
- Extensive experience with re-engineering virus to improve their packaging capacity, titer, targeting selectivity and potency, is required.
- Experience with in vivo cell therapy and/or virus like particle (VLP) application is preferred.
- Experience with engineering virus packaging cell lines or inducible virus-producer cell lines is preferred.
- Team management experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills both in English and Chinese, detail-oriented organization skills, and team collaboration skills.
- Strong ability to analyze data, report data, present findings to management is required.
- Ability to manage priorities and make decisions in a fast-paced environment to make sure deliverables are achieved in a timely fashion.
- A strong track record of scientific accomplishments, including first-author publications, patent applications, and/or presentations at major national meetings, is required. \
- Occasional domestic or international travel required.
