We are a fast-growing poolside restaurant located atop the Hotel Wilshire.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Create a warm and hospitable environment for everyone in our restaurant
- Provide a memorable guest experience
- Communicate daily menu items and make thoughtful/informed recommendations to our guests based on their preferences
- Accurately process payments
- Prepare and service beverages for guests in a speedy, efficient, friendly, and professional manner
- Maintain the cleanliness of the bar area by disposing of all waste, clearing and cleaning all glassware, and wiping down bar and preparation areas
- Serve alcohol per California Law
- Follow Health and Safety Standards when handling food and beverages
- Maintain a high level of product and menu knowledge and be eager to keep learning
- Partake in regular testing to ensure product knowledge and quality is to standard
- Attend regularly scheduled training meetings to develop knowledge and skills
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
- May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, and lift 40 lbs on a regular and continuing basis and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 150 lbs occasionally.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with customers, managers, and other employees.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment, including, but not limited to, cutlery used in the cutting of fruit.
Skills / Experience:
- 2-yrs previous bar experience
- Excellent listener & communicator
- Ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask
- Team player and able to anticipate others’ needs
- Knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor
- Positive Attitude
- California Food Handler Certificate
- Vaccination Card
