The position and responsibilities you are assuming as Bartender for our community. The Bartender is responsible for the overall assurance of an excellent dining experience for our residents. It is your responsibility to not only promptly and graciously serve our residents, but to train and inspire the dining team to do the same. Because our residents deserve the best, you are held to a high standard for quality and customer service. You report directly to the Dining Room Supervisor.
Essential Functions- Coordinate and lead the overall Pub experience for our residents/families and guests.
- Obtain and maintain knowledge of the alcohol we have on company grounds and any we are looking to purchase.
- Review dietary specifications before each meal (if applicable).
- Greet residents (and visitors) at the table before taking orders or serving.
- Plan and promote pub activities along with drink specials.
- Assure adaptive equipment is present for residents who require it (i.e. built-up utensils, etc.)
- Serve beverages and meals in a courteous, friendly, helpful, and accurate manner.
- Coordinate the delivery of room service trays to resident apartments as necessary.
- Coordinate special event set up and tear down with the chef, event planner and concierge desk.
- Bus pub tables.
- Clean tables and chairs.
- Inventories liquor, wine, beer and any other products for the pub & place order.
- Maintains storages in a neat and organized fashion.
- Complete side duties, such as adding sugar and creamer packets, cleaning beverage center, etc.
- Serves are a role model for all employees by displaying a responsible, cooperative, and positive attitude at all times.
- Provide ongoing training to all Dining employees on drinks.
- Check out employees in the pub and help with dining at the closing of the shift to ensure all servers have completed all side work according to the server manual.
- Performs all cleaning tasks according to cleaning schedule.
- Assists with the coordination, set-up, and follow-through with all special events and functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Dining Room Manager

Qualifications

- 1-2 years experience
- Maintains current food handler’s certification.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, electronic, or schedule form.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Physical Demands and Requirements
- Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the work day; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist, and reach
- Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/handle items.
- Must also be able to walk throughout campus on frequent basis for extended periods of time. (Up to five hours)
- Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous daily activities.

- May be exposed to bio hazardous materials including, but not limited to, blood and body fluids, sharps exposure, animal dander and latex.
