About The Facility: Stony Brook Farm (“SBF”) is an 18-stall dressage boarding and training facility in Norfolk, MA. It is also the home-base of trainer and USDF Gold Medalist, Jodi Pearson-Keating.
Job Description: SBF is looking for Saturday and Sunday barn help from approximately 2:30 PM - 7:30 PM with flexibility to cover for illness, scheduled absences, and horse shows. This is a physical, fast-paced job and is a non-riding position.
Job Requirements:
- Capable of lifting 50+ pounds.
- Work inside and outside in all types of weather (rain, sleet, snow, heat, humidity)
- Able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Grain, hay, and water horses
- Turn in and out horses twice per day.
- Clean stalls and add bedding (goal of 15 minutes per stall)
- Scrub stall water and grain buckets
- Pick manure from paddocks, remove soiled hay and sweep mats clean.
- Observe horses for signs of injury/ illness and communicate any problems to the barn manager.
- Make sure barn is clean and always organized (e.g., cobwebbing, garbage removal, sweeping, cleaning bathroom, etc.)
- Assist/perform tasks as requested.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Experience working with horses and at barns.
- Reliable transportation
- Work well with others
- Positive attitude
- Punctual and reliable a MUST
- Must be comfortable working in ALL kinds of weather.
- Flexible, committed, hard-working.
- Love of horses and horse care
