Barista/Store Associate / Cashier

We are looking for hardworking, responsible, and eager people to work at our cafe and dessert shop. Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. You will give excellent service to the customer, present and answer questions about our drinks and desserts, and recommend new specials and promotions to the customer each month. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied, and you will directly contribute to the store’s profitability.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers with a smile
• Provide excellent customer service at all times
• Provide accurate information on drinks, desserts, and specials/monthly promotions
• Upsell and recommend new drinks and desserts for customers to try
• Ensure supplies are fully restocked in the store. This includes cups, straws, lids, syrups, powders, teas, boba, etc.
• Prepare drinks, smoothies, and desserts for the customer
• Provide daily customer feedback to the store owner

Skills

• Proven work experience in a retail, restaurant, or customer-facing role (experience working in a restaurant, coffee shop, or dessert shop is a plus)
• Basic understanding of retail or restaurant sales processes
• Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
• Basic math skills required and must understand or be able to learn how to operate a cash register/P.O.S. system
• Excellent communication skills with customers and employees
• Ability to perform in stressful and fast-paced environments at times
• Flexibility to work various shifts (day or evening shift)
• High school degree or working towards degree

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
