Barista/Retail Associate

Rust is located within Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. It is our job to provide a provide a memorable and historic style experience for our visitors.

Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to all shoppers
- Assist customers in finding products and making purchasing decisions
- Operate cash register and process transactions accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor
- Stock shelves and replenish merchandise as needed
- Answer customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints
- Promote current sales and promotions to customers
- Prepare food & beverage orders
- Basic store cleaning/maintenance
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, safety, and food handling

Skills:
- Proficient in operating a cash register and handling cash transactions
- Experience with Square POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus
- Strong sales skills and ability to upsell products
- Basic math skills for calculating totals, discounts, and change
- Knowledge of food industry regulations and food safety practices
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to handle cash accurately and maintain cash drawer integrity

Requirements:
- Maintain a historic(19th century) aesthetic
- Be on your feet during entire shift with exception to break times
- Lift up to 50lbs
- Climb a ladder
- Be available to work during holiday's, weekends, spring & summer breaks

This position requires a high level of customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in retail sales, particularly in the food industry.

Pay: $16.85 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
