Barista/Cashier

Triple C Coffee in Aurora, NE is a locally & family owned coffee shop on Highway 34. We provide our customers with quality coffee, espresso drinks and baked goods, as well as a positive atmosphere to sit and visit or do work. The atmosphere we bring out is laid back, fun, a little sass but also a place for people to feel like they are at home and stress free. Our baristas are the heart and soul of the shop. From the science of brewing to the art of customer relations, baristas have a lot to navigate in any given workday. While always ready to recommend specialty beverages, baristas also need to ensure a clean, safe, and productive workspace for customers and co-workers alike

Barista Skills and Responsibilities:

• Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with preparing and baking pastries, cookies, lunch and breakfast items.
• Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions.
• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, espresso lungo, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
• Generates revenues by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products.
• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks.
• Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

[Work Hours & Benefits] We need some fellow early birds to help us out. We have a start time as early as 530am and ending times around 430pm. Employees are allowed to caffeinate to keep them going, in fact we encourage it and many of our drinks are created by our baristas experimenting. We also allow one meal for shifts longer than 6 hours. Starting pay is $11/hour plus tips.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• Prior café or coffee shop experience a plus
