About the Role:
Baristas / Expos are responsible for making all drinks in the Boba department, plating all the appetizer items, and packing takeout orders according to Din Tai Fungs established recipes and SOPs. Baristas / Expos are also responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Boba, Side Station, and Packing stations, taking regular inventory and restocking necessary items.

Job Responsibilities & Tasks:
Barista Functions

• Makes all drinks in the Boba department according to Din Tai Fungs established recipes and SOPs
• Plates and garnishes the drinks in accordance with Din Tai Fungs guidelines
• Cleans, organizes and maintains the Boba station
• Takes inventory for the Boba items and restocking necessary items
• Assists with packing takeout orders
• Labels all items in accordance with Health Department regulations and Din Tai Fung procedures
• Attends monthly staff meetings

Expo Functions

• Plates the appetizers in accordance with Din Tai Fungs plating guidelines
• Prepares ginger plates and water glasses during down time
• Keeps the Side Station clean, organized and sanitized
• Handles and coordinates all of the takeout orders for the restaurant
• Packs takeout orders according to Din Tai Fung Takeout Packing SOPs
• Takes inventory and restocks necessary items for the Packing station
• Labels all items in accordance with Health Department regulations and Din Tai Fung procedures
• Attends monthly staff meetings

Supporting Functions:

• Keeps all kitchen areas clean and sanitized
• Organizes items within the walk-in coolers and freezers
• Lifts/moves boxes, bags, chairs, and tables (up to 50 pounds)
• Assists with regular deep cleaning of the kitchen
• Maintains confidentiality regarding all propriety information, including but not limited to recipes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
