Bar and Lounge Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
The Bar and Lounge Manager will manage all daily operations within the Bar and Lounge, including all people and processes therein. The Bar and Lounge Manager will lead a passionate & talented team to drive excellence in guest experience and the overall success of Apex Noire by delivering high standards in alignment with the culture and values.
The Bar and Lounge Manager has full P&L accountability and accordingly must have a high financial acumen and awareness of the relationship between operational activities and corresponding financial implications and awareness of the relationship between operational activities and corresponding financial implications. Ultimately, the Bar and Lounge Manager must seek to create and implement business improvements to enhance production yield, increase revenue, and control expenses. The ideal candidate will be positive, passionate, and a people's champion to effectively leverage both people and process to optimize the work environment to increase productivity and maximize efficiencies, while driving safety, compliance, and employee morale.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the entire Apex Noire Bar and Lounge operations
- Maintain Inventory of supplies/approve all requisitions to ensure operations is held par standards
- Responsible for menu design and creating promotional materials and specials
- Ensures bar is well stocked and cleaned at all times
- Oversees planning for special events
- Selects and purchases liquor and other supplies
- Oversees entire Bar and Lounge staff
- Initiates and maintains vendor relationships
- Uses point of sale tracking technology and Bar and restaurant management platforms
Quality and Financial
- Ensuring all employees adhere to our standards regarding quality of product and service, rewarding those that do and building in mechanisms to collect feedback and inputs for measurement.
- Rewards those individuals that assert themselves on higher standards
- Ensuring that a safe and clean environment is the norm, and all products are properly handled.
- Analyze monthly P&L’s, developing, implementing and following through on action plans
- Maintaining accurate employee tiles including all requisite elements therein
- Being proficient in producing accurate financial and operational reports using the system.
Staffing and Training
- Work to ensure that all policies and procedures are understood and followed by staff
- Participate in the recruiting, selection, training, development and success of employees
- Ensure daily observations of staff providing both positive and constructive feedback
Compliance
- Ensure proper documentation of all applicable activities in accordance with the division regulatory mandates and standards, policies and procedures set by company
- Ensures the maintenance of accurate records and documentation of all production activities including Inventory (ICS) records of incoming and outgoing deliveries, returns and destruction of unusable product in accordance with all policies and regulations
People & Development
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate staffing levels and peracting to any changes that may impact staffing needs
- Overseeing and participating in the recruiting, hiring and processing of high quality employees & leaders; ensuring timely and accurate filing of all requisite documentations.
- Continually assessing the status of the current management team, developing action plans to address the developmental issues of each team member and following through on progress.
- Consistently identifying staff from within for promotions and working with those individuals to create career development possibilities.
- Providing coaching, mentoring and developing the management team as well as hourly employees
- Ensuring compliance & other training programs are effectively developed, administered and produce the desired results.

- Proficiency in Windows-based and other software as well as work -in-process-application
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality or 2-3 years experience in a bar, restaurant or hotel management
- Bartender’s license/Tip certified
- Preferred experience with Toast and Triple Seat
- Minimum two years pf cocktail mixology experience while demonstrating strong knowledge of recipes and presentation methodologies
- Familiarity with point of sale tracking technology and Bar and restaurant management platforms
- Food Safety: Abide by food safety requirements and ensure others follow by monitoring FIFO inventory and visually inspecting food prep and delivery activities
- Demonstrable experience in leading large teams including leading leaders with hiring & employee relations
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends
