PURPOSE OF POSITION: A Captain is in charge of practical work at banquets and prepares for them. He/she must also ensure that junior employees are maintaining professional appearance so as to leave customers a refined and classy impression.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or its equivalent. Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Experience in food & beverage services. Experience in hotel banquet duties preferred.
CREDENTIALS: Certificates in hotel services and food & beverage preferred
- This position earns additional compensation through service charges
- Must be service-minded to meet client needs
- Must have fluent English skills to serve guests and make reports
- Must possess expert knowledge on the F&B menu
- Must possess basic cooking knowledge on menu items (ingredients, how to cook, etc.)
- Must be able to use devices and equipment provided for banquets
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
- Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
- Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule: weekends, holidays, AM, PM, overnight and overtime when needed.
