Banquet Captain

Compensation/Structure:

$18-20 per hour. Commensurate with experience and tenure.

Full time

Must be available for weekends and holidays

Reliable transportation or planning to relocate before starting work required

Education and/or Experience:

· High school graduate or equivalent.

· Previous fine dining and banquet experience.

· Must be at least 19 years of age to serve alcohol.

· Proven track record in successfully assisting all types of banquet functions and other special events.

· Some liquor and public entertainment license knowledge.

Job Summary:

As a Banquet Captain at the club, your primary responsibility is to ensure the successful execution of events and the satisfaction of guests. This involves coordinating event logistics, overseeing staff performance, and addressing any issues that may arise. You will work closely with the Private Events Manager and other managers to maintain high standards of service and presentation. Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to professionalism are key to success in this role. Additionally, you will play a role in staff training and development, ensuring that the team is equipped to deliver exceptional service.

Job Duties (including but not limited to):

· Coordinate and supervise catered events.

· Work with various managers to ensure personnel requirements are met.

· Oversee banquet staff during events.

· Coordinate food service between kitchen and banquet service staff.

· Communicate service goals to staff.

· Help develop department goals.

· Coordinate event setup and teardown.

· Inspect linens and manage inventory.

· Ensure staff adherence to club policies.

· Conduct pre-function meetings.

· Address guest needs.

· Handle complaints.

· Oversee event breakdown.

· Complete post-event reports.

· Complete other appropriate assignments made by the Clubhouse Manager or Private Events Manager.

Licenses and Special Requirements:

· Food safety certification.

· Alcohol beverage certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

· Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.

· Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.

· Continuous repetitive motions.

· Work in hot, humid, and noisy environment.
