Position: Bakery Worker Salary: $19.41/hour

DUTIES:

Prepares Baked Items as assigned by the Facility Manager. Follows daily baking schedule. Weighs and measures dry, and wet ingredients needed for making dough and batter. Familiar with standard operating procedures for baking equipment such as: digital/analog scales, standing orbital mixer, pizza dough mixer, proof box, convection ovens, pizza ovens, and crust press. Performs Barista duties as needed and trains other staff members. Cleans cooking and service equipment. Scrapes, cleans, scrubs, washes, or wipes equipment, such as ranges, ovens, electric or gas fryers, pressure cookers, steam kettles, and broilers. Drains and cleans coffee and tea urns. Scrubs and scours worktables. Cleans grease traps in sinks. Removes garbage to collection points. Clean woodwork, windows, and displays counters. Sweeps, mops, waxes floors. Polishes dining area furniture. Carries supplies between storeroom, kitchen and dining area and run errands.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Collaborates with management to determine and give direction to the bakery department.

2. On a daily basis, make fresh pizza dough with strict adherence to recipe. Weigh out portions, press with pizza press and sheet for baking. Prepare pizza by orders from customers with ingredients for baking.

3. Prepare and bake muffins, cookies and cinnamon rolls and any additional baked goods for daily morning sales.

4. Generate weekly orders for bakery items and submit to facility manager.

5. Restock the prep and cooking area with supplies as needed.

6. Track day old bakery items and complete waste log when appropriate.

7. Clean cooking areas and service equipment to include pots, pans, mixers, ovens, and proof boxes.

8. Mop floors and vacuum, as necessary.

9. Serve drinks and food, clear tables, prepare fruit and vegetables for cooking and serving by washing, peeling, scraping, and dicing.

10. Make sub sandwiches from cut meats and prepare salads. Shred lettuce, slice tomatoes, and open cans, as necessary.

11. Portion out food by placing uniform amounts.

12. Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum:

1. Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

2. Ability to work as a team player.

3. Read, write, and speak fluent English to communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and staff.

4. Understand baking operation procedures to include measuring and equipment operation.

5. Ability to follow oral and written instructions such as menus, recipes, etc.

6. Physically able to lift 50lbs or greater and carry for a reasonable distance.

7. The ability to climb, bend, lift, push and pull, walk, and stand as required to complete tasks for long periods of time.

Preferred (in addition to minimum):

1. One (1) year’s general experience working with food service preferably with baking experience.
