At Earth Fare Our Team Leaders are managers who are responsible for modeling Earth Fares Mission, Conviction and Purpose, while developing and managing a successful team within their department. Team Leader responsibilities include adhering to the departments standard operating procedures; meeting and exceeding financial goals including gross profit, shrink, sales, labor and department over-head. Team Leaders are responsible for ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Bakery Team Leader
Contributions
- Training & Development: Communicates the Earth Fare vision, standard operating procedures, merchandising guidelines, and financial goals to Team Members, with strong emphasis on customer service, safety and sanitation. Interviews, selects, trains, and supports team members with the goal of developing new leaders in the Bakery Department. Maintains a positive and professional work environment. Clearly defines and communicates expectations with punch lists and communication log to team members. Continue to take the initiative to perfect craft through individual training and development.
- Production: Supervises and participates in the production of in-house baked goods including frozen, par baked, scratch, and artisan items. Maintains high standards of quality control.
- Operational Tasks: Ordering and receiving deliveries; staff scheduling; checking daily and weekly sales/movement reports, shrink reports, emails and responding accordingly; conducting monthly department inventory. Continually find ways to reduce expenses.
- Merchandising: Develops and maintains an attractive sales floor by implementing Earth Fare merchandising guidelines.
- Department Conditions: Maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and overall organization of the department including all fixtures, storage, work stations, freezers, and coolers.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Experience managing a team of people
- Proven success managing shrink, sales, gross-profit and total overhead of a department in a similar environment required.
- Preferred 3-5 years minimum experience in a food service environment.
- Preferred 2-3 years of artisan bread baking experience.
- Knowledge of bakery industry trends, as well as common allergies and specialized dietary terms such as gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation as well as proper use of kitchen utensils and other equipment used in food preparation.
- Artisan bread baking knowledge preferred, but not required.
- Perishable experience and OSHA ServSafe Certification preferred.

- Must be able to push, pull, and maneuver heavy loads
- Must be able to stand and be on one's feet during the workday
