Job description

Essential Functions:

As a valued member of the PrimeFlight team, you will:

  • Assist Passengers with all baggage-related issues including Loss, Delay, Damage and Alleged Pilferage Claims.
  • Set Delayed Baggage up for delivery and/or Forward Delayed Baggage.
  • Arrange for replacement or repair of passenger baggage as required.
  • Prepare reports and make certain delay and damage cause code assignments as required.
  • Issue customer compensation as per carrier policy
  • Exceed PrimeFlight Customer Service Standards in a stressful baggage service office environment.
  • Become certified and enforce the hazmat/dangerous goods policy of the customer airline(s) concerning checked baggage.
  • Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance at job location.
  • Exceed PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

General Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age
  • Reliable transportation

Compensation

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Computer Skills:

Be able to operate and interpret computerized airline passenger check-in and baggage service systems.

Certificates and Licenses:

Driver's License

  • Continuously stand and walk for 6-8 hours.
  • Lift 50 pounds or more.

  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, squat, and reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Must be able to lift bags high enough to transport luggage.
  • Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Clear vision at 20 feet or more with or without corrective lenses.

Because the job involves heavy physical work, it is important to be physically strong.
