COMPANY AND POSITION OVERVIEW


Major Broadway theatre owner-operator is seeking a Backstage Doorperson to join our Theatre Operations team. Direct experience with or theatrical performance is not required.

A Jujamcyn Theaters Backstage Doorperson is confident, enthusiastic and professional! They are responsible for locking the building at the end of each shift, managing the security of the stage door and allowing entry only to approved personnel, accepts packages and food deliveries for building team members.

You will be joining a high-energy, detail focused team that plays a central role in keeping our five theatres (the St. James, the Al Hirschfeld, the August Wilson, the Eugene O’Neill, the Walter Kerr) and hit shows running smoothly. You will work inside a collaborative, respectful, and driven company that's focused on providing the best experience for theatregoers and theatre-makers on Broadway.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • You are enthusiastic, a people person and a team player.
  • You are a hands-on person who approaches every problem with a positive attitude, and not afraid to get your hands dirty when necessary – no task too big or too small.
  • You are a flexible person, comfortable with situations and projects that may change rapidly, and can respond constructively and positively in challenging circumstances.
  • You are a great communicator and collaborator, and care deeply about delivering the best possible experiences and results for your team members, patrons, and the company at large.
  • You have the ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • You are able to work well during times of busy traffic while also being able to manage downtime effectively.

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience
  • Current Local 306 member
  • Love of theatre

JOB HOURS

Must be able to work a 6-day work week, including weekends and holidays.

Evening Doorperson: Monday 11:30am-6:30pm, Tues 2:30-11pm, Weds 3:30pm-12am, Thurs 2:30-11pm, Fri 2:30-11pm, Sat 3:30pm-12am, Sunday OFF
