Paperless Environments is seeking a Backend Developer to join our dynamic team in Baton Rouge, LA. Over the past 18 years, Paperless has created an industry changing document management software solution for the Construction industry that is currently in use across 1,800 businesses in all 50 states and 5 other countries. Our software allows users to import documents from OCR, emails, mobile/web portals and then provides superior document routing and form entry while synchronizing entry data from our software back into a customer's accounting system. The key to our success is our partnership and integration with many of the most popular ERP systems on the market. Now we are taking our ideas to the web and need your help!

A Little Bit About Your Future Team:  
 

We are currently running two-week sprints kicked off by a sprint planning and ending with a sprint review with stand ups mixed in throughout the sprint. We use Microsoft DevOps for sprint planning, ticketing, and repo management.  

Our tech stack for this hire will primarily be working in Azure, CosmosDB, SQL, and C# .NET 6. The stack is then connected through a RestAPI to a React frontend. For well-rounded candidates, opportunities to work in mobile and desktop development may also be an option.  
 

Most of our developers are located in our Baton Rouge, Louisiana office with some remote. You can work with us here in Baton Rouge, at our Portland, Oregon satellite office, or fully remote.  This position does require minimal travel to our Baton Rouge office.

Key Responsibilities of this Role: 

• Build out new features from the ground up writing clean, scalable code 
• Design, code, and test business systems to meet requirements 
• Work alongside other developers on cross-functional teams to build our SaaS and Desktop software 
• Build and connect ReactJS frontend single page application into C# backend via RestAPI. Will also be building Endpoints to be accessed through this API 
• Write efficient SQL calls to retrieve and save data 

• Responsible for successful completion of code deliverables within projects 
• Involvement in the various phases of the SDLC 
• Work alongside development leadership to help determine scope and direction of new features 

What We're Looking For: 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience 
• 5+ Years of experience using C# .NET  
• .NET 4.8 / .NET Core 6 
• 2+ years of experience working with REST APIs 
• Strong SQL experience (writing queries and sprocs, using CTE tables) 
• Experience using async / await to build asynchronous Backend Calls 
• Experience with tools such as Visual Studio, GIT, and Azure DevOps 
• A strong sense of good design patterns and coding practices (Currently using MediatR with CQRS and exploring repository patterns) 
• An analytical mind for approaching and solving problems logically 
• Experience collaborating across departments and teams to evaluate and improve processes and reporting 
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and Cloud services 
• Thorough understanding of and experience with structured software development methodologies including design, development and testing in an Agile environment 
• This role can be mid-level or senior level depending on experience 

Nice to Have: 
  

• UI/UX design experience 
• Document management, ERP or accounting software experience 
• Previous development experience with SaaS products 
• Azure architectural experience
