The Role
Hitachi Vantara is seeking a back-end Java developer to join our product development team. We are working to build and release cutting edge Java based applications as a part of our next generation product portfolio. The candidate will primarily focus on the development and maintenance of server-side logic and back-end code. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of database creation, test-driven development, and advanced debugging. This individual will be an integral part of the team and will collaborate closely with other developers.
Responsibilities
- Design and coding in a java environment
- Develop and execute unit testing
- Maintain and contribute to source code
- Define, Implement and maintain APIs
- Create and maintain detailed source code and API documentation
Skills
- Ability to work independently, finding solutions to programming problems with minimal oversight.
- Ability to work in a team with diverse technical backgrounds.
- Analyzing user requirements to inform application design.
- Ability to debug complex applications quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to align application design with business goals.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development work experience in Java, C#, C/C++ or Scala
- Degree in computer engineering or related discipline
- Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
- Experienced with Java, Jax-RS, Junit, and Maven
- Experienced in one or more Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with cloud-based storage (S3, Blob, Google Storage)
- Experience with storage area networks (SANs)
- Experienced in designing RESTful web services.
- Knowledgeable in advanced multithreaded java code
Not required but a strong plus
- Certified Java developer
- Cloud Certifications
- Experienced SCSI, Fiber-Channel or Storage Area Networks

"For Colorado only (as required by the Colorado Equal Pay Act): The expected salary for this position in our Colorado office is $100,000 - $150,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara's variable pay program, subject to the program's conditions and restrictions."
