Responsibilities
Childcare:
- Provide attentive and nurturing care to children in the home.
- Create a safe and stimulating environment for children to thrive.
- Plan and engage children in age-appropriate activities, including playtime, educational exercises, and creative projects.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children.
- Assist with personal hygiene routines, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Transport children to and from school, extracurricular activities, and appointments as needed.
Customer Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with parents to understand their childcare preferences and expectations.
- Provide regular updates to parents on their children's activities, progress, and any notable events.
- Address any concerns or questions parents may have regarding their children's well-being.
Problem Solving:
- Handle behavioral issues or conflicts that may arise among children in a calm and constructive manner.
- Adapt caregiving strategies to meet the individual needs and personalities of each child.
- Ensure children's safety at all times, taking proactive measures to prevent accidents or injuries.
Time Management:
- Efficiently manage schedules to balance childcare responsibilities with other household tasks.
- Coordinate with parents to align schedules and expectations for childcare services.
- Flexibility to accommodate changes in the daily routine or unforeseen circumstances.
Quality Care:
- Promote positive behavior and social skills development in children through consistent guidance and positive reinforcement.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in children's living and play areas.
- Administer basic first aid and respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
Other:
- Tidy the home during school hours.
- Opportunity for additional hours cleaning family business.
- Other duties as assigned by parents or guardians.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in childcare or related fields preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent completed education level.
- Must hold a current and valid driver's license.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to lift and carry children and objects as needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, nurturing, and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- CPR and first aid certification is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to various childcare philosophies and parenting styles.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with parents as a team.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in childcare practices.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
