We have partnered with our client in their search for an VDI Administrator with Azure Virtual Desktop experience to join their growing team.
Work Location: Remote in the following states AK, AR, AZ, CO, FL, HI, IA, ID, IL, KS, LA, MD, MN, MO, MT, NE, NV, NM, NC, ND, OK, OR, SC, SD, TX, UT, VA/DC, WA, WI & WY only
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with end users, vendors, and fellow technical team members to address ongoing system issues and improvements.
- Utilizes Horizon View Logs for effective troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Leads key projects related to VDI and Microsoft patch management.
- Formulates strategic initiatives to uphold VDI environment stability.
- Conducts monitoring of VDI service performance.
- Construct golden images for deployment across the environment.
- Monitor VMWare view usage and performance.
- Provides training to fellow IT staff on VMware View and Horizon functionality.
- Acts as the primary liaison with the VDI/VMware host provider.
- Design, develop, and monitor patch and software distributions to VDI desktops.
- Contribute to the development of IT best practices, policies, processes, and procedures for the VDI environment.
Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Azure Virtual Desktop experience required
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in technical and desktop support within a corporate setting is essential
- 3+ years VMWare Horizon version 7 and higher
- 3+ years VMWare Horizon view experience
- Cloud computing experience
- Proficiency in creating, modifying, and updating templates to create parent images for VM deployment
- Intermediate-level knowledge of networking concepts including DNS and DHCP
- Proficiency in using Active Directory to manage users and groups
- Working knowledge of PowerShell commands
- VCAP – Architecture Certification preferred
- MSIX packaging tool experience beneficial
- Experience with SaaS and DaaS cloud-based services
- Windows 10 and/or 11 experience
- Ability to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense background investigation
