Our Fletcher, NC facility is looking for Axle Housing Technicians. This position is responsible for metal forming, welding and metal cutting for our drive axle housing according to standard work instructions and engineering specifications in a safety and quality driven manner.

The Axle Housing Technician will determine what machine fixtures and tooling is required for the part being produced through interpretation of the work instructions, and will use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, dial indicators and micrometers to ensure required specifications are met. The Axle Housing Technician is also responsible for machine setup and changeover, as well as the setup and operation of automated weld cells, adjustment of torches, replacement of liners, touch points on robots, and the verification of welds coming off of automated cells (and repairing welds when required).

The Axle Housing Technician maintains specifications by observing lathe operations to include drilling, turning and facing. Taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting, adjusting controls, setting tool registers and calculating compensation are also tasks required in this role.

Candidates are expected to identify and record any issues, and initiate, recommend, or provide solutions for nonconformities through the Team Lead of Facilitator. Candidates are also expected to perform rework or repair operations on nonconforming material. 5S standards are expected. Safe forklift operation experience is a requirement. Candidates are also required to actively participate in employee engagement and Kaizen events to assist in achieving site initiatives as outlined in the Meritor Production System.

Nuestras instalaciones de Fletcher, NC están buscando técnicos de carcasa de ejes. Esta posición es responsable del conformado de metales, soldadura y corte de metal para nuestra carcasa del eje motriz de acuerdo con las instrucciones de trabajo estándar y las especificaciones de ingeniería de una manera impulsada por la seguridad y la calidad.

El técnico de la carcasa del eje determinará qué accesorios de la máquina y herramientas se requieren para la pieza que se produce a través de la interpretación de las instrucciones de trabajo, y utilizará instrumentos de medición de precisión como pinzas, indicadores de dial y micrómetros para garantizar que se cumplan las especificaciones requeridas. El técnico de carcasa de ejes también es responsable de la configuración y el cambio de la máquina, así como de la configuración y operación de celdas de soldadura automatizadas, ajuste de antorchas, reemplazo de revestimientos, puntos de contacto en robots y verificación de soldaduras que salen de celdas automatizadas (y reparación de soldaduras cuando sea necesario).

El técnico de carcasa de ejes mantiene las especificaciones observando las operaciones de torno para incluir perforación, torneado y revestimiento. Tomar medidas, detectar fallas de funcionamiento, solucionar problemas, ajustar controles, configurar registros de herramientas y calcular la compensación también son tareas requeridas en este rol.

Se espera que los candidatos identifiquen y registren cualquier problema, e inicien, recomendando o proporcionando soluciones para las no conformidades a través del Jefe de Equipo del Facilitador. También se espera que los candidatos realicen operaciones de retrabajo o reparación en material no conformes. Se esperan estándares 5S. La experiencia segura en la operación de montacargas es un requisito. Los candidatos también deben participar activamente en el compromiso de los empleados y en los eventos Kaizen para ayudar a lograr las iniciativas del sitio como se describe en el Sistema de Producción Meritor.
