This role is an exciting opportunity to help advance patient access and has a material impact on fulfilling the company's oncology vision and unlocking the full value of its inline portfolio. This position will require outstanding leadership in access strategy and execution, therapeutic area expertise, as well as strong cross-functional team collaboration, influence and connectivity with Human Health (HH) leadership, Research and Development (R&D), regional market access and the Product Development Teams (PDTs). The Associate Vice President of Global Market Access, Oncology will report to the Vice President of Global Market Access, Oncology and will lead a team of tumor leads for the inline oncology assets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Defining the overarching ambition, establish an enterprise vision and portfolio access strategy for the launch of brand new indications, new assets and maintaining access for current indications. This includes developing and advancing pan-asset and pan-indication strategies to support access to metastatic and early-stage treatment across the breadth of launched and near-term launch assets and indications.

  • In partnership with the Oncology access teams from global and regional, prepare for external competitive and environmental pressures with proactive access strategies to differentiate and grow leadership, supporting timely, broad and sustainable of new indications and new assets.

  • Bring a strong voice of the payer into the Late Drug Review Committee (LDRC) and other governance forums to optimize the relevance of new data read outs and impact on reimbursement and patient access in major markets

  • Partner with R&D, global pricing and regional access to drive excellence in reimbursement readiness and execution across monotherapy and combination indications; strong collaboration, partnership and effective/efficient Ways of Working (WoW) with Asset Teams, R&D partners (CORE, regulatory, medical), regional leads and Alliance partners where applicable

  • Leading One Team approach across GMAx to prepare for launch and lead the implementation of global access plans and inline brands’ new indication launches and life-cycle management for mature indications.

  • Lead tumor specific global plans for access for brand and near term pipeline

  • Partner closely with R&D leaders to prioritize the value demonstration plans and activities that are related to the global plans for access

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree

  • Preferred: Advanced Degree (e.g. MBA, MS, PharmD, PhD)

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 15+ combined access, commercial, marketing support, payer, HEOR or related experiences in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.

  • In-depth understanding of Oncology healthcare market dynamics around innovation & capabilities, and the science of Oncology.

    • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare trends and reimbursement and policy issues and their potential impact upon our Company's business opportunities
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills

  • Strong people leadership and management experience leading large headquarters based cross functional teams

  • A strong understanding and experience of reimbursement systems in major markets

  • Leadership and Impact: Proven track record of high-performance launches and/or driving business results

  • Innovative Thinking: Demonstrated ability to leverage innovation to drive results

  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills, both within access and cross divisional teams

  • Communication: Ability to clearly articulate messages/information across the enterprise and to all levels, including highest levels of senior leadership

  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to analyze complex data and create clear patient and customer-centric strategies

  • Challenging Status Quo: Ability to drive initiatives forward with a win as one team mindset


Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Deep Global Access and/or Oncology experience

  • Demonstrated leadership in the development of asset and portfolio access strategy, prioritization, launching new products or indications, tactical execution of reimbursement plans and negotiations

  • Experience providing market access and commercial input on such activities as: target product profile development, global regulatory filing strategy, launch readiness reviews, payer engagement, payer research, organized customer interactions, pricing, market share, using the access lens, demand, forecasting, Product Development Team (PDT) and agency partner management

  • Work with commercial partners to manage brand and portfolio forecast

  • People management experience and leading large cross functional initiatives

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. $268,500.00 - $422,700.00
