Job description

Job Summary

This position serves as the Finance Business Partner for Nassau’s Annuities Products. The AVP, FP&A, leads the planning and completion of the annual Annuities Plan process, as well as the analysis and communication of the Plan. This position also analyzes, packages, and communicates quarterly and annual financial results. In addition, actively participates in initiatives across all areas of the finance function and executes on key deliverables to meet company objectives and works closely with all areas within Corporate Finance and with other company functions as assignments require.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Finance Business Partner for the Annuities business.
  • Key member of the Nassau Annual Operating Plan (AOP), including coordinating collection, consolidation, and analysis of information from various business partners.
  • Prepare AOP presentation materials and liaison with subject matter experts on accompanying analysis and commentary.
  • Analyze, package, and communicate quarterly and annual financial results.
  • Prepares other presentation materials for key stakeholders – including several Nassau Boards, rating agencies, regulators, investors, banks, and others as needs arise.
  • Lead assigned FP&A projects and initiatives, aggregating, organizing, and interpreting information that supports tactical and strategic decision making. Performs independent research and analysis of trends, variances, and unusual transactions along with conclusions and recommendations.
  • Interacts with other areas of the company in finance role and builds collaborative relationships.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting required
  • 10+ years of accounting or finance experience; experience in the insurance industry preferred (reinsurance experience a plus)
  • Highly collaborative team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Strong execution skills with ability to build/manage a comprehensive plan and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and time management skills
  • Superior analytical skills with ability to synthesize and summarize data
  • Able to lead initiatives, influence and execute effectively
  • Strong technology skills and use of various applications/software, and in particular Excel and PowerPoint; Onestream and/or PeopleSoft experience a plus

  • Extended working hours during financial close cycles and as business needs dictate.

The compensation for this position falls within Nassau’s salary band F: $120,000-$160,000
