Job description

Enterprise Stress Testing AVP will join the team responsible for the Global Systematic Stress Testing (GSST) program at Citi; team's responsibilities include the target state vision for the program, transformation planning in collaboration with a variety of internal stakeholders, and ongoing compliance with Citi's Stress Testing policy and procedures. The role requires both an understanding of Stress Testing in financial institutions and strong engagement skills and ability to drive change in large organizations.
The GSST team is part of the Enterprise Risk Analytics (ERA) area within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organization. Enterprise Risk Management, a newly established part of Independent Risk Management, is responsible for enterprise-level risk identification, risk appetite and limits, risk analytics, Stress Testing, and risk frameworks and policies. All these initiatives are expected to see rapid growth in the next 2-3 years as Stress Testing is established as a key risk management, capital management, and strategic planning tool across the organization. The role in question is being established to accommodate the expansion of ERM's Stress Testing responsibilities.
Role Mandate

  • Join the team in establishing the strategic vision for the Stress Testing program in alignment with the Enterprise Stress Testing policy and external regulations. Help the evolution of the program in line with the Firm's multi-year transformation plan, and coordination of the program's own development/enhancement and its interaction with a variety of key stakeholders
  • Ensure the Stress Testing program's ongoing compliance with policy and procedural requirements including model sponsorship, scope/population audit, analysis of material risk inventory
  • Provide requirements for new/updated stress scenarios to be designed based on the changes to material risks the Firm faces
  • Ascertain the full range of applications of the Stress Testing program; assess appropriateness of associated stress-loss limit framework and provide support to the Enterprise-level risk identification process
  • Ensure that the stress loss results are properly reviewed and augmented with overlays as necessary in collaboration with stakeholders responsible for individual risk pools

Qualifications
Education:
  • Excellent academic record with a graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics/mathematics, etc., or an undergraduate degree with additional years of relevant experience is required

Experience:
  • Three or more years of experience in Risk or relevant Finance, Front Office/Business, or Management Consulting roles, which must include experience across multiple risk stripes such as retail/wholesale/counterparty credit risk, market risk including interest rate risk in the banking book, operational risk. Relevant graduate studies may count towards this requirement
  • Expertise in portfolio risk modelling and economic/risk capital, and familiarity with Stress Testing; model development and/or validation experience is highly advantageous
  • Experience in developing strategic plans for complex processes and in drafting senior management communications is preferred

Skills:
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with ability to synthesize complex technical information
  • Critical success factors include keen ability to develop an agenda and influence others to drive its implementation
