Avp, Commercial Loan Officer

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the Commercial Loan Officer (CLO) position. As a CLO, the primary function is to counsel current and prospective commercial banking members, primarily in the Dutchess County Region, regarding HVCU's products and offerings. A successful CLO will maintain and develop their commercial portfolio to meet community needs—annual salary starting at $100,000 (Commission eligible, no caps). 

• Evaluate and assess the risk of loan applications and determine the eligibility of applicants, by collecting and and analyzing financial information, such as credit reports, income statements, tax returns, etc.
• Guide borrowers through the loan application process, explaining terms and conditions, and answering any questions they may have.
• Maintain and develop the portfolio of existing Commercial Loan members, responding promptly to all inquiries and requests, and utilize approved methods to record the details of all efforts.
• Collaborate with underwriters to ensure loan applications meet lending criteria
• Stay updated on industry regulations and changes in lending practices
• Build and maintain relationships by networking with members, real estate agents, and other professionals in the industry.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the loan process
• Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

• Associate’s Degree or at least 2 years equivalent experience for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of experience required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Minimum 3 Years in business commercial lending experience required
• Minimum 2 Years direct commercial lending experience required
• SBA loan origination experience preferred
