Project Type:
Projects include professional audio, video, and lighting systems in houses of worship, corporate, and retail environments.
Reporting Relationship:
The Installer will work alongside and in conjunction with other installers and the Project Managers and will report to the Preparation and Customer Service Manager to achieve successful preparation of projects as assigned.
Position Summary:
The Installer will be responsible for the successful installation of custom fabricated architectural and theming elements and the FabriTRAK acoustic system in high profile church and corporate environments. There is also an expectation that the Installer will be willing and able to assist with other disciplines when needed. This individual must have an excellent knowledge of the industry’s accepted best practices. The individual should always be striving to improve their education, skills, and efficiency. The person should be an excellent communicator that can work well in high stress situations, be a high-capacity self-starter with excellent client skills. Ability to follow directions, solve problems and work with others as a team and staff alike is a must.
What are the minimum requirements?
· Three to five years of professional carpentry or related experience
· Valid Class E driver’s license and good driving record
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Ability to work back-to-back, 10-hour days and occasional longer days
· Must have a relatively flexible schedule
· Ability to read and understand CAD design plans a must
· Extensive experience using tools of the construction related trades a must:
o All common power tools; construction equipment such as personnel man lifts, boom lifts and scissor lifts, ladders, scaffolding, hoists, pulleys, Unistrut steel support and mounting hardware
o Personal protective equipment such as goggles, hard hats, hearing protection, safety harnesses, etc.
What does this job entail?
· Being part of a team of full-time staff, part-time staff, and interns on occasion
· Advancing and preparation of projects to include:
o Coordination with designers to understand design intent and integration needs of systems for cross-discipline systems communication
o Preparing equipment and materials: inventorying, labeling, planning, layout, testing, etc.
o Packing equipment and loading/unloading of trucks as needed
o Coordination with project management for installation needs
· Custom Fabrication Installation – ensuring elements within the design are properly and safely installed and that the finished product meets or exceeds customer and company
expectations.
· FabriTRAK Installation – ensuring elements within the design are properly and safely installed and that the finished product meets or exceeds customer and company expectations.
· Coordinating on preparation with installers, project management, and designers
· Attend design meetings to assist with gathering of information for project design parameters
· Always work to maintain a clean, safe, and secure work environment
· Carry out work adhering to OSHA safety protocols and company procedures
· Assist other Paragon installation/prep teams as needed
· Other duties as assigned
What skills will be valuable?
· Basic computer skills and use of standard Microsoft Office software such as Office 365, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
· Understanding of or experience with basic construction tools and techniques
· Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
· Self-management skills: problem-solving in high stress environments; positive, professional, friendly demeanor; verbal and written communication skills; comfortable receiving frequent direct written and oral feedback; time management; ability to multi-task
· Team player who values and adds to an excellent team culture
What are the physical demands of the job?
· Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time on a daily basis.
· Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, push/pull, crouch, and balance for long periods of time on a daily basis
· Must be able to and comfortable working in high places climbing ladders and scaffolding and working in lifts.
· Must be able to lift and carry in excess of 50 pounds
· Must be able to use hands for grasping and fine manipulation
· Must be able to read, write and speak with positive attitude with ability to recall, remember and work well under stress for long periods of time on a daily basis.
