Job Description: Tutors will work with small groups of high school students, under the
supervision of the AVID classroom teacher. Tutors serve as guides and facilitators of students' learning through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussing. Schedules may vary between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, depending on daily class hours and tutor availability. Pay is $13.00 per hour.
All tutors must attend a training session.
Qualifications: Tutors must have completed at least a 2 year degree or be currently enrolled in a post secondary school program. All tutors should have good communication skills and basic knowledge of subjects from grades 9-10.
