Job Title: Aviation Safety Representative
Location(s): Westminster, CO
Status: Full-Time
FLSA: Exempt
Hiring Range: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00/yr. (The anticipated starting salary pay range of $80,000.00 - $130,000.00/yr. is based on minimum requirements for this position. Minimum requirements are a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and at least 5 of relevant experience. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicant's education, training, and experience.)

RSI EnTech, LLC is recruiting for an Aviation Safety Representative who will provide oversight, expertise, and risk management support for the planning and safe execution of all aviation operations. Oversee all programmatic Aviation Safety activities, in partnership with the Field ASR (FASR).
This position is required to travel at least 10% of the time.
Primary responsibilities and essential functions:
  • Supports crewed aerial surveys and chartered flights; authors programmatic Aviation Safety documents, coordinates LM Aviation Program Manager reviews on crewed/chartered subcontracting documents; reviews crewed/chartered project-specific Aviation Safety Plans (ASPs); collaborates with assigned LM Aviation Safety Officer (ASO) overseeing mission execution, when necessary; acts as a FASR supporting small uncrewed aircraft missions in absence of a FASR, as assigned.
  • Develops and implements LMS aviation program documents and forms, as required, to ensure compliance with DOE Order 440.2C and LM Aviation Management and Safety Program Description.
  • Serves as Safety Representative for aviation related matters.
  • Coordinates, updates, and reviews LMS aviation program documents and forms, as required, to ensure compliance with DOE Order 440.2C and LM Aviation Management and Safety Program Description.
  • Serve as alternate FASR for sUAS aerial surveys, as assigned by the LMS Aviation Program Manager.
  • Develop and coordinate LMS aviation program contract deliverables, as assigned by the LMS Aviation Program Manager.
  • Ensure that LMS subcontracting documents include the DOE Order 440.2C, Contractor Requirements Document (CRD) for crewed and chartered missions.
  • Maintain training and certifications for ASR role, as described in the LMS Aviation Management and Safety Program description.
  • Maintain membership to and attend conferences (as allowed) for Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI).
  • Ensure subcontractors bidding on work are currently listed, and in good standing, on the DOE Office of Aviation Management (OAM) Commercial Aviation Services (CAS) Accepted Operators List (AOL).
  • Collaborate and support field investigation of any sUAS or crewed accident or incident.
  • Maintain training and certifications for ASR role.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work experience, skills, and capabilities needed:
  • Experience in Safety and Health.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and client relation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
  • Technical writing experience.

Technical knowledge, certifications/licenses, and software proficiency required:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Application of safety related concepts to field and office work.

Desirable qualifications, experience, or proficiencies of the ideal candidate:
  • FAA Part 107 license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.

Required Education and Years of Experience:
Bachelor's degree in aviation, systems safety, engineering, physical science, or related field with a minimum 5 years of relevant safety and health experience. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Medium Work Category - The employee exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, to reach with hands and arms, and to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
