Job description

The position serves as an Aviation Safety Analyst in the Business Operations (AIR-740). Leads broad global outreaches within AVS and to industry and foreign regulatory authorities to promote safety and common safety processes. Responsible for coordinating responses within the division on high profile or significant safety issues and coordinating the division's activities for accident and major incident investigations.

Qualifications:

For the FV-J level: You must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower level (FV-I/GS-13). This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Specialized experience includes:

- Experience providing aircraft certification Division and Executive leadership teams advice and information on safety issues;
- Experience in accident and airworthiness investigations;
- Experience in applying risk analysis techniques used to analyze and evaluate the safety and reliability of systems or components.
