The AV Technician’s role will center around installation of the designed scope of work. The AV Technician will establish the needs and expectations of the project, have the ability to understand the technical drawings for the AV systems, and write up proper documentation required to support the project for execution by the AV team. The AV technician may need to troubleshoot problems as they arise.
Requirements
- Execute the installation of the design and stage solutions using AV system components such as displays, projection systems, camera systems, control systems, microphones, speakers, distribution amplifiers, and power distribution.
- Work closely as part of the AV team, to assist in installing the technical requirements for a space.
- Understand AV signal flows.
- Use a range of software to understand AV design diagrams.
- Clearly communicate and document processes to team, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Work closely with the support team to determine trends and iterate on designs to improve stability.
- Install high quality video conference experiences from the ground up with consideration for scalability and rapid deployment.
- Support Video Conferencing platforms.
- Conduct advanced programming allowing for a single point of control for audio visual systems.
- Perform appearance and preventive maintenance visits to conference rooms (VC connections, wires, peripherals, speakers).
- Conduct quality control of inventory and asset management.
Qualifications include but not limited:
- 2 years’ of previous experience in Commercial AV installation.
- Strong technology skills with the ability to troubleshoot.
- Highly organized.
- Strong listening skills.
- Knowledge of cameras, control systems, audio, video, projectors, displays, and other related technologies.
- Some understanding of IT and networking systems.
- Strong communication skills.
- Helpful and highly collaborative.
- Must be willing to travel 70% for this role.
- High school diploma or 2 years’ of previous experience with Commercial AV installation, preferred.

- Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000.
