Autonomous Box Truck Vehicle Driver

**Valid CDL A or B driver's license with recent commercial driving experience is required for this role**
Commitment: This is a full-time (40 hours per week with possible overtime), contract position and is based in Sherman, TX. 8 -14 hour shifts available, 7 days per week (Drivers start as early as 4:00AM and end as late as 3:00PM. Shunter hours will be 3:00PM - 12:00AM) Compensation is hourly and paid training is provided. An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the initial training.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

Requirements

• 3+ years possessing a valid CDL A or B driver’s license
• 3+ years recent (within the last 5 years), local delivery driving experience, which must include:
  • at least one year of experience driving Box Trucks at least 26’ in length
  • middle mile deliveries (e.g. warehouse to fulfillment center)
• 25+ years old with a clean background check, drug screen and Motor Vehicle Record check
• Willing and able to work flexible hours on both weekdays and weekends
• Customer relationship management experience with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Organized and proactive, possessing solid mechanical aptitude/basic mechanical skills
• Basic computer skills including the ability to learn and successfully use applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience driving 26’ Box Trucks for middle-mile deliveries in the Sherman area
• Experience driving Box Trucks up to 35’ in length
• Previous relevant experience in automotive technology/engineering roles or as an automotive technician

Working Conditions: Due to the nature of the position and daily inspections of the vehicle, this job often requires physical work including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, and various operation tasks that may require lifting up to 50 lbs. and climbing a ladder.

We are looking for highly motivated CDL A or B Box Truck drivers with at least three years’ experience to help test and improve the performance of the company's driverless 26-foot-long Box Trucks in running local routes in the greater Sherman area to transport dry and refrigerated cargo, obtain data, provide feedback to engineering teams and nurture strong customer relationships.

As Autonomous Vehicle Operator, you will: 

• Safely operate 26ft (or longer) Box Trucks along local Sherman area routes for on-time deliveries to retail customers. 
  • NOTE: the vehicles are currently being driven in manual mode with the aim of moving toward autonomous operations.
• Support customers and teams by acting as an ambassador for the company and being a versatile team member who communicates effectively on Slack, tracks and reviews job-related data, and performs ad-hoc projects as needed.
• Take care of your assigned state-of-the art vehicle by keeping it clean, performing daily safety checks (e.g., monitoring fluid levels, checking tire pressure and hose connections), and notifying the team for repair as needed. 
• Complete route testing by collaborating with software/hardware engineers and operations team members regarding collection/drop-off processes and procedures.
• Provide vehicle performance feedback to the operations and engineering teams.
