We meet our customers at their home, business or at the bank directly, inspect their vehicle and if everything checks off, our customers are driving away with cashier’s check or direct payment in minutes.
ValleyCarGroup.com is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our team as an Associate Buyer. In this role your primary responsibility will be to acquire cars from private sellers from online channels such as Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Cars.com, Cargurus.com, Offer Up, Autotrader.com and more.
LOCATION: Waco, Texas
A buyer that will cover a territory 200+ miles around the Waco area.
Specifically, as a Buyer, you can expect to:
- Acquire ValleyCarGroup.com inventory from a variety of online platforms/auctions using analytical decision-making.
- This will require you to book out vehicles and actively look for leads if the bookers don’t have active appointments for you to go out on. Appointments will be provided on a weekly basis, but a buyer will be responsible for gathering leads themselves as well. Training will be provided but experience is a plus.
- Analyze automotive industry for trends in vehicle values through KBB and MMR values.
- Be able to inspect vehicles and identify existing issues either mechanically, cosmetically, or structurally.
- Be able to negotiate price with customers based on customer price points.
- Stay abreast of new products, features, and sources of vehicle supply. Being able to actively walk a car and know what additions are on the vehicle that add value to the book.
- Act as liaison between the purchasing function and other business units.
- Travel throughout your territory as needed to purchase vehicles from private party sellers. Gas is compensated for all appointments regardless of success.
- Being able to navigate through a CRM and now how to update information within a database
The qualifying candidate must be analytically oriented, demonstrates an interest and understanding of the automotive industry, goal-oriented, enthusiastic, energetic, organized, self-motivated, with the ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of automotive appraisal, inspection and/or buying experience.
- Must have experience inspecting and identifying mechanical, cosmetic, and structural damage.
- Experience booking cars and accessing prices on vehicles a plus. Training provided on this element of the business for the right candidate.
- B2C sales experience a plus. This position requires negotiation skills and in person sales to secure deals.
- Road warrior. Average appointment is about 45 minutes to 2 hours away to start the day depending on how the appointments are outlined. Gas is compensated but due to the geography of the territory, there is a lot of driving involved.
- Self sufficient with finding deals. There are bookers that find appointments for buyers to go out on, but a buyer is required to actively look for a set number of cars a day in order to meet monthly territory goals.
- Must have reliable transportation, a laptop
- MUST BE organized and structured
- Able to work remotely, independently
Compensation:
- Total Average Compensation - $48,000 – $75,000+ a year variable comp
- Bonus program for high producers. Commissions are not capped with a very aggressive bonus program.
