- $25.00 - $45.00 per hour depending on qualifications
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform work as specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
- Develop work procedures based on experience and technical manuals
- Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
- Conduct necessary repairs and take vehicles for test drives to verify soundness
- Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records
- Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety
- Use many different tools to complete tasks: pliers; wrenches; hammers; sockets; ratchets; wrenches; lathes; welding torches; hoists; jacks; etc.
- Work with fuel, chemicals, and other toxic substances
- Ensures that customer’s cars are kept clean and maintains stall in an orderly and clean manner
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma; Must have at least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
- Attention to detail and the ability follow direction precisely
- Knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to identify problems quickly
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
- Must be Ford certified or have the ability to be Ford certified within a reasonable time frame upon employment.
