POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Cashier
Department: Service Reports to: Service Manager

General Responsibilities: A Cashier (Cashier or Employee) is responsible for processing customer Parts and Service transactions through receipt of cash, checks and credit cards and preparing funds for deposit. Cashier also assists with the preparation and flow of Service Department paperwork and assisting callers over the phone.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive payment (cash, credit and check) from customers, issues change, generates sale transaction paperwork, and verifies credit card purchases where necessary.
- Update service files/records with invoice payment information.
- Receive incoming phone calls, assist callers and screen/forward calls to other employees as appropriate.
- Double check the accuracy of invoices/repair orders and ensures that repair orders are signed by customers.
- Balance cash drawer and prepare proceeds for deposit in accordance with dealership processes and procedures.
- Reports any cash discrepancies to supervisor.
- Devote him/herself to providing the best possible customer satisfaction to all customers.
- Greet all dealership customers by using the dealership’s established greeting.
- Listen carefully to the customer’s stated wants and needs and respond actively to satisfying those needs.
- Attend training sessions, Department meetings and other meetings as requested from time to time.
- Assist customers in an expedient manner, with patience, professionalism and follow-through.
- Monitor and work toward constant improvement of CSI score levels.
- Manage customer complaints in professional and non-confrontational manner.
- Keep the workspace in a tidy and professional manner.
- Abide by all safety regulations and promotes safe working conditions
- Support and assist co-workers in the furtherance of dealership goals.
- Maintain a well-groomed professional appearance at all times.
- Strive for cooperation and teamwork with all other dealership departments.
- Maintain proficiency on all dealership systems, including but not limited to the dealership management system and timekeeping system.
- Follow directions from supervisors.
- Follow all Company policies, directives and procedures.
- Abides by dealership policies concerning Information Safeguards.
- Ensure a workplace that is free from harassment, discrimination or retaliation in accordance with Company policy, and promptly report to Human Resources or a Company officer any potential violations or complaints regarding the Company’s harassment, discrimination or retaliation policies.
- Report to and notify Company officials of compliance, ethics or other issues of importance.
- Accurately record all hours worked each shift (including start and end times of shifts as well as start and end times of meal breaks) using the dealership’s timekeeping system and in accordance with dealership policy.
- Interact well with co-workers in a professional and productive manner.
- Report to work in accordance with the assigned work schedule.
- Understand and follow work rules and regulations that are posted or distributed.
- Accept constructive criticism and coaching.
- Perform any other duties as required and assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Standing- Intermittent, not more than 20% of the working day
Walking- Intermittent, not more than 10% of the working day
Sitting- Frequent, 5-7 hours per working day
Stooping (bending at the waist), kneeling, and crouching (at knee and waist)- Infrequent, not more than 5% of the working day
Handling (writing, typing or other activity using hands with papers, files, or office equipment/tools/supplies)- Frequent
