Responsibilities
SUMMARY:
The Automation Project Engineer will bring new strategies and visions to life by evaluating and validating all outcomes that improve production. The feasibility, as well as creating the plan of action into a sustainable business improvement, through innovation, design, tactical planning, and implementation, is critical to this role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Management - Coordinate and effectively communicate with stakeholders to design, lead, plan, procure, and implement manufacturing production projects to completion for Kennedy Valve within sustainable budgeted goals.
- Manufacturing Automation - Lead the team in study and implementation of best automation practices.
- Being a leader in Programable Logic Controller (PLC) communication and review.
- Work closely with Production Management, Engineering, and Quality Assurance towards continual improvements in CNC machining operations.
- Manufacturing floor layout and simulations.
- Work closely with Engineering Student Work programs to teach and coach through project study and implementation opportunities.
- Work opportunities include involvement with Foundry and Finishing departments.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology or in a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in project management, within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Applicable Engineering Software (i.e., SolidWorks and/or other CAD Software)
- Automation Simulation Software and Engineering Processes
- Robotic language writing and communication
