SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Description of Position, including a list of Duties and Responsibilities.
- Safety sensitive position.
- Communicate with clients, field personnel, land survey division manager
- Accurately draft maps for construction or boundary purposes, including but not limited to ALTAs, topographic maps, floodplain maps, etc.
- The ability to calculate survey information
- The ability to read survey maps or construction plans
- The ability to use data from cut-sheets, survey field books, etc
- The ability to utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe and other computer software
- Manage daily time schedules
- Upload and download daily survey data, make copies of notes and update field folder
And Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job requires the supervision of 1 – 3 persons during field activities.
- Responsible for equipment and supplies.
- Maintain clean work area.
- Potential future supervisory responsibilities depending on work loads.
REQUIRED SKILLS

- Land surveying AutoCAD drafting techniques
- Land surveying related mathematical concepts
- GPS downloads, uploads; filing data
- Working with total station data, both robotic and manual style
- Windows, specifically the ability to use Windows Explorer, Excel and Word.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D and other AutoCAD software. Revit a plus!
- Knowledge of survey vocabulary
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to get a driver’s license in the State of Arizona
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED; 5-year minimum related experience and/or training as a land survey AutoCAD drafter; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical or vocational training desirable. Experienced field surveyor pursuing L.S.I.T and/or R.L.S. certification a plus if AutoCAD drafting skill level is high.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
High proficiency in the English language including but not limited to: Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Note taking abilities. Complex CAD maps from field books and notes. The ability to write complete sentences. Ability to read construction information. The ability to write legible. The ability to work with legible notes and cutsheets.
OTHER SKILLS
High level of AutoCAD required. Revit and other tools a plus. Interest in expanding knowledge of the profession is a plus.
