This is a 100% on-site role. Remote work is not offered for this position.

The Design Technician will help engineers on electrical utility projects.
We are accepting Southern NJ, Eastern MD, and DE candidates for the role.
There will be some travel only to project locations when needed. 15-20%.
So minimal travel to take photos with equipment provided by us.
Document measurements on a tablet, and uploading data and documents.
When not in the field, you will have the opportunity to work from HOME FULL-TIME
Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities may include GPS survey, overhead/underground line locating, inspections, testing, and documentation of power distribution, gas distribution, ROW, compressors, and other related facilities
- Complete design tasks for associated utility design projects. Tasks include but are not limited to drafting, engineering calculations, easement validation; design/construction cost estimating & permit package development.
- Managing multiple projects in order to ensure timely, successful completion of projects resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction and company/departmental goal achievements.
- Ability to review Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for updates or conflict
- Coordinate projects for construction across multiple departments to accomplish timely construction and meet customer, crew member or client needs within a negotiated timeframe
Required Qualifications:
- Must Reside in DE, MD, NJ
- High School Diploma required. Technical certificate in drafting or other technical skills preferred.
- Basic design skills: MicroStation preferred (willing to train)
- Detail and quality oriented. Must be comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation including blueprints, construction specifications, and other items.
- Strong communication and customer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to understand instructions and independently carry out instructed tasks.
- Ability to grow into responsibility for managing long-term client program work.
