Position:Claim Manager

Salary: Salary and benefits are commensurate for position

Reports to: Claim Director


Position Description:

The Claim Manager ensures the timely and accurate reporting and recording of claims in accordance with approved company procedures and guidelines, as well as local regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Proactive recruitment of talent; work with management establishing and implementing a strategic staffing strategy.
  • Effective orientation and on-boarding.
  • Manage staff performance; implement strategies and plans to address staff development; identify and address training needs on an ongoing basis; provide frequent performance feedback.
  • Work with claim director to develop and implement effective training, performance development and succession planning
  • Drive and achieve desirable results for all material damage and casualty related metrics, including cycle times, days to move, contacts, productivity, phone results, quality review audits, and other pertinent claim metrics
  • Analyze/Create/Maintain management reports and individual performance and ability to provide an analysis of trends and recommendations to address noteworthy issues
  • Applies highly advanced knowledge of policy, coverage, liability, damages, compliance, and regulatory requirements to achieve quality claim handling
  • Handle administrative duties, oversee, and coordinate the day-to-day activities of claims units and be accountable for implementation of initiatives, achievement of assigned goals/objectives in compliance with policies and procedures
  • Highly advanced skills in conflict management and problem resolution

  • Employ proper claim handling techniques to protect the integrity of our brand and providing consistent service quality and streamlined processes to add value for our customers.
  • Develop and execute a strategic file management plan that achieves optimal file resolution and business results
  • Provide face-to-face and written guidance to ensure effectiveness, engagement, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Review new losses, ensuring claims are assigned to staff with appropriate skill sets.
  • Conduct quality file reviews per office/ best practices guidelines.
  • Establish/follow up on file reviews per diary instructions, conducting additional reviews
  • Implement strategies and initiatives to improve file quality, customer service and manage costs

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5 or more years of non-standard auto management experience required
  • 10 years of non-standard auto handling experience desired
  • Proven track record of exceeding performance goals and expectations, as well as quality file handling
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to set the rigor in claims processing and running the teams productively
  • Ability to coach, mentor and develop team
  • Must possess excellent tracking & reporting experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel with ability to analyze data
  • Analytical and Problem-solving skills required
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Must hold a Florida adjuster license
