Auto Mechanic
Erwin Electric is an established electrical company with an excellent reputation in the electrical contracting community since 1997. We are a W/MBE and DBE-certified electrical contracting corporation experienced in commercial, industrial, residential, and government work. As a reputable and stable company that has been in business for 26+ years, we are currently seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team in the Tampa Bay Area.
Total compensation for the Auto Mechanic position is based on experience and/or licensing. Candidates with exceptional experience and a successful history of performance will receive top pay and an excellent benefits package, including Health, Dental, and Vision plans, along with opportunities for advancement and consistent full-time work.
Responsibilities:
Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs: Perform, schedule, maintain, and control vehicle maintenance and repairs for all fleet vehicles, drivable equipment, and trailers, ensuring safety and optimum performance at the best possible price.
Record-Keeping: Keep accurate logs of all repair and maintenance activities.
Vehicle Key Management: Responsible for the maintenance and storage of vehicle keys, including spare keys.
Machinery and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain fluid levels and lubrication of machinery, equipment, and tools.
Property Maintenance Support: Assist owners with multiple property maintenance items as needed.
Warehouse and Logistics Support: When available, help the Purchasing/Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Staff with receiving shipments, storage, distribution, or delivery of products, parts, and materials. Operate hand trucks, forklifts, or other heavy equipment.
Damage Reporting: Report any damage and loss of company property immediately to Doug Erwin.
Miscellaneous Duties: Undertake other duties as assigned that contribute to the smooth functioning of the fleet and warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- 5+ years of mechanical experience with all types of vehicles, including heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of fixing heavy equipment.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Previous fleet experience is a plus.
Compensation:
$26-30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
