Job Description
- Demonstrate the ability to complete light to heavy repairs correctly.
- Assess and analyze damaged areas to prepare for painting.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Be responsible and organized.
- Plan work procedures and follow the work order for all listed operations.
- Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic windows, seat operating equipment, and trim to gain access to the damaged area of the vehicle if necessary.
- Repair damaged body by hammering out or filling in dents, welding broken parts, ensuring all gaps and fits are to industry standards, removing damaged fenders, panels, and grills, and bolting or welding replacement parts in position before reassembling after parts are painted.
- Operate various hand and power tools such as a welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.
- File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces with 120-grit paper before turning the vehicle over to the Paint Section.
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Ensure all necessary repairs are identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time.
- Must have your tools.
- References are required.
- Submit a resume.
- 3-10+ years of experience working in a body shop.
- Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear regularly.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb are frequently required.
- Must be able to lift 1-15 pounds.
- Must communicate with others and read and understand instructions, written estimates, and work orders.
- Must be able to multitask and adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment.
- Must have and maintain a well-groomed appearance.
